Why plastic bristles are the problem
The bristles on a standard toothbrush are nylon, a petroleum plastic. And brushing wears them down.
Peer-reviewed research has measured it. Conventional nylon bristles shed tiny plastic particles into the mouth during normal brushing, roughly [VERIFY: 30 to 120 particles every time you brush]. Do natural bristles shed into your mouth?

Are natural bristles bad for my enamel?
